1916 Connecticut Horticultural Society Flower Show in June
1919 Dahlia Exhibition at Russell Library- our first Horticulture show
1921 New York Flower Show - Mrs Fife won a prize
1924 New York Flower Show - Mrs Taylor won Gold Medal
1927 Zone Meeting featuring 60 flower arrangements at Mrs. Wadsworth's home. MGC came full circle in 2013 hosting a Zone Meeting again at Mrs. Wadsworth's home, now city-owned and opened to the public.
1929 Two members take prizes at the Durham Fair
1932 Began a tradition of yearly Flower Shows
1953 MGC joined with 12 clubs in a YMCA flower show
1980 MGC began doing shows every 3 years and, in 1990, went to a 5 year show schedule
 

Octoginta in 1995, Blossoms at Long Hill in 2000, and Autumn on the Great Tidal River in 2005 were all fundraising events to benefit the Wadsworth Mansion and Wadsworth/ Kerste deBoer Arboretum
 

Our membership today includes outstanding flower arrangers, horticulturists, and Flower Show judges, who have garnered numerous awards in shows throughout the country.
